Stories of designers who have developed professional paths of great value, outside the box and often on the border with art, perhaps still too little known and valued.

The PROJECT

Torino is the cradle of great designers, experimenters, and artists who have marked the city’s cultural identity. The most independent and courageous cultural adventures of its inhabitants have developed a desirous attitude towards the search for international experiences in the fields of science, technology and the arts. Archivi d ‘Affetto brings to light these stories, designers who have developed professional paths of great value, outside the box and bordering on art, who are also often little known and valued. In drawing attention to the immaterial and material legacy of these peculiar existences, with irregular and unforeseen trajectories, that cannot be coded according to the established conventions of contemporary times, fragile and precious archives are rediscovered.

These archives arise with an unexpected and surprising nature that Giuseppe Pontiggia, with a thunderous aphorism, in his latest work “Flying Island”, defines as “invisible reserves”, the foundation of our future. With a curatorial and polyphonic approach, which collects testimonies, follows documentary traces, and re-reads these stories by activating unpublished productions by today’s authors, Archivi d’Affetto consists of episodes, each dedicated to the narration of a figure in a poetic and emotional dimension, where private life intersects and overlaps with professional life.
